Should I Do Personal Training or Group Training?

If you’re thinking about joining a gym but unsure whether to choose personal training or group training, you’re not alone. It’s a common question we hear from new clients at 4D Gym, and the answer depends on your goals, preferences, and support needs.

Here’s how to know which option is right for you—and why both are better than training alone.

1. Personal Training Offers Total Customisation

If you’ve got specific goals, an injury, or a long break from exercise, private personal training is often the smartest way to get started. You’ll get full attention from your coach, a plan tailored to your body, and direct feedback on technique in every session.

It’s also the fastest way to learn the fundamentals of strength training—and build confidence under the bar.

2. Group Training Keeps You Accountable

Our small-group personal training model (maximum 4 clients per coach) gives you the same expert guidance, but with a little added energy. Many people love the camaraderie of seeing familiar faces each week and find that they push harder in a group environment.

It’s still personal, still structured—but with just enough social motivation to keep you coming back.

3. Both Include Nutrition, Recovery, and Structure

Whether you choose private or group training, every member at 4D receives a structured plan, tailored nutrition support, and access to our private infrared sauna and red light therapy. We don’t just train you—we take care of your full recovery and lifestyle.

4. You Can Change Anytime

Not sure which to pick? That’s okay. Many of our clients start with private PT for a few months, then move into group training once they’re confident. Others start in a group, then opt for one-on-one sessions to break through plateaus.

The key is flexibility—and we’ll help you find the mix that fits your life.

Book Your Free Consultation

The best way to decide is to come in for a free fitness package. You’ll meet a coach, complete a body scan, and discuss your goals in a private setting.

No pressure—just expert advice, real support, and a plan to move forward.
